Former King’s Fork High standout guard Jayden Epps has committed to play basketball for Georgetown after a season with Illinois.
Epps, the 2020 All-Tidewater Player of the Year, announced via Twitter that he has committed to the Hoyas and new coach Ed Cooley, who came to Georgetown from Providence.
With Illinois, Epps — a 6-foot-2, 190-pounder — averaged 9.5 points, 1.8 points, 1.5 assists and 24.6 minutes in 31 games for a team that made the NCAA Tournament as a No. 9 seed, falling in the first round to Arkansas. He had two points in six minutes in that 73-63 defeat.
Epps shot 41.4%, including 30.1% from 3-point range, for the season.
