A new gas station in Virginia Beach will offer gas for 76 cents per gallon to the first 76 people to arrive on Thursday at 11 a.m.

The discounted gas will be available during the grand opening of the 76 gas station at 3200 Holland Road near Shipps Corner Road. Mayor Bobby Dyer plans to be there for the ribbon cutting.

Customers who plan to attend must download the My 76 app before arrival to pay for the discounted unleaded fuel, the company said in a press release. The company is promoting the app to provide a quick and contactless form of payment, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.

During the event, gas station workers will wear masks to pump gas while customers remain in their vehicles. The company also asks attendees to wear masks during the visit.
