A delivery person was seriously injured Tuesday morning in an industrial accident at a shipyard in Norfolk, the fire department said.
The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. at the westernmost Colonna’s Shipyard location on South Main Street in the Berkley neighborhood.
The victim was struck by a hatch door and sustained life-threatening injuries, according to a spokesperson for the Norfolk fire department, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
It’s unclear which delivery service the victim works for, and no further information was made available Tuesday morning.
