Virginia’s first Biggby Coffee coming to Virginia Beach

What are the plans for the former PNC bank building on Princess Anne Road, across from the municipal center?

One of the fastest growing coffee chains in the country intends to renovate the building and open in that spot.

Founded in 1995, Michigan-based Biggby Coffee operates over 240 locations nationwide, mostly in the Midwest. The first in Virginia will be the 2,200-square-foot store with one drive-thru lane at 2422 Princess Anne Road.

Franchise owners Mitch and Catherine Peters hope to open by early summer. Mitch received a 50% discount off the franchise fee because of his veteran status.

“I’m from Michigan and an entrepreneur by heart, so it’s a good fit for me” he said. “Coffee fans just love Biggby.”

The Biggby menu includes bagels, muffins, specialty drinks and naturally, a wide selection of brewed coffee.
