The Department of Motor Vehicles customer service center in Hampton is going to close for about a month to allow time for interior renovations.
The DMV center located at 8109 Roanoke Ave. will close at the end of the day Saturday and is expected to reopen July 18.
In a news release, the department said renovations would include a new countertop design “to improve efficiency and customer flow,” additional customer service windows, fresh paint and updated lighting.
The agency encouraged customers who need services to make an appointment at DMV locations in any other city including Newport News and Portsmouth.
The Hampton DMV Select location at 1 Franklin St. in Hampton will remain open for transactions such as registration renewals, titles and license plates.
