“Their advice is that I go on vocal rest for six weeks so that’s what I’m gone do,” Wallen said. “They want me not to talk at all but they said if I need to it’s OK for something like this.”

He was scheduled to perform at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach on June 8 and 9. Both events were sold-out, according to their pages on LiveNation. The entertainment company advised that ticketholders keep their tickets because they will be valid for the show’s new date.

Wallen said in the video that his team is in the process of rescheduling dates that fall within the next six weeks.

“They told me that if I do this the right way then I’ll get back to 100%, and they also said if I don’t listen and I keep singing then I’ll permanently damage my voice so for the longevity of my career this is just the choice I had to make,” Wallen said. “I hate it, but I love you guys and I appreciate all the support that you’ve always given me.”
