Dr. Stacey Sparkman Hall is the dentist at Williamsburg Center for Dental Health.

Job title: Dentist, Williamsburg Center for Dental Health

At work: I am the only dentist at Williamsburg Center for Dental Health, and I do everyday dentistry as well as full mouth cosmetic and functional reconstruction, including bonding, veneers, crowns and implants. I lead an amazing group of ladies, including two who helped me start the practice from scratch 11 years ago.

Volunteer activities: I have done missions work in Honduras and El Salvador with Orphan Helpers. I volunteer in the children’s church and for the emergency response team at Williamsburg Community Chapel. My office does a Day of Smiles, giving away free dental work to those from Grove and 3E Restoration and doing $17,000 on average of free care in one day.

Home and family: I grew up in Newport News (as did my parents who went to Newport News and Ferguson high schools). I live in Williamsburg and have three daughters. Most of my extended family lives in Tidewater as well.

Motivating factor: I have always been self-motivated. There were times growing up when I had three jobs just because I loved the challenge. In the office, I am motivated by my team to have the best environment for them to work and by my patients to have the best dental office caring for them. My “why” is to be the best provider and example for my three girls.

Advice for women in business: Do everything to learn the most coming right out of school when you are young and have time. Learn skills to be efficient and effective, figuring out how to produce the most per hour in whatever you do. Decide what schedule you want to work, and train yourself and your team to maximize your production in that time period. You will not regret it.

The one thing I would change about Hampton Roads: I wish every trip from Williamsburg through the tunnel would be seamless and predictable.

Professional goal in five years: As I am always doing, I will continue to learn the best techniques and materials to use for the care of my patients. I would also like to travel more to teach and consult with other dentists on how to effectively become successful.

Downtime: If I could be on the boat every day of my life, I would. I love having quiet time at my river house in Ware Neck. I love to ski. My guilty pleasure is watching “Real Housewives” shows.

What really gets under my skin: When people do things halfway or just enough to get by.
