Tina Holt

Job title: Senior vice president and regional manager of Hampton Roads and Northeastern North Carolina, Long & Foster Real Estate.

At work: While every day is different at Long & Foster, there’s one constant: the people. We’re in a people business, and for me, that means helping my managing brokers in building their offices and supporting their teams; helping my agents to support their clients and provide exceptional service to all the area’s buyers, sellers, renters, investors and vacationers; and helping our Hampton Roads communities however they need. I hold a real estate license in three states: Maryland, North Carolina and New Jersey, which has served me well as our Hampton Roads team has expanded along the Eastern Shore and farther south.

Volunteer activities: I am a two-time breast cancer survivor, and I have participated in many breast cancer fundraisers and American Cancer Society events. As the mother of three sons who served in the military, I am also active in the Wounded Warrior Projects and support Landing Zone Grace, a facility for first responders and military members to decompress and find life after trauma. Additionally, I volunteer for the local food bank Habitat for Humanity and Operation Smile. Plus, as the grandmother of a child with Down syndrome, I participate in Virginia Beach’s World Down Syndrome Day 5K race and Special Olympics. I have also served on many local real estate association communities throughout my career. I currently serve as vice chair of the Broker/Owners Council and soon will be installed as a member of the Real Estate Information Network’s board of directors.

Home and family: I grew up in Hampton and later lived in Roanoke for 14 years, which is where I began my real estate career. I lived in northeastern North Carolina from 2005 to 2020 before moving back to Hampton. I now split my time between Hampton and Currituck, North Carolina, because I oversee both areas. I’m very fortunate now that all three of my sons and their families live within an hour of me for the first time in 14 years. I am also MiMi to six grandchildren.

Motivating factor: As my mentor John Maxwell says, “Success is when I add value to myself. Significance is when I add value to others.” I am motivated by both!

Advice for women in business: Don’t compare yourself to others. Be authentic, transparent and approachable. Just be you and know that if you take care of the people, everything else will take care of itself.

The one thing I would change about Hampton Roads: Absolutely nothing. I love Hampton Roads … well, maybe not the traffic.

Professional goal in five years: To grow Long & Foster’s Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina region significantly by making strategic acquisitions and by recruiting and developing talented agents who have a heart to work and serve others.

Downtime: Enjoying a facial or massage, a walk on the beach or impromptu fun with my grandchildren. When possible, I love to travel. Seeing new places and experiencing new things excites me.
