Top Workplaces extends nomination deadline for Hampton Roads organizations to April 21

Employers nationwide are competing for workers and are looking to get the word out about their perks, culture and pay.

Recruitment is a major reason Hampton Roads employers say they participate in Inside Business’ annual Top Workplaces recognition program.

For the fifth year, Inside Business, The Virginian-Pilot and the Daily Press are partnering with Pennsylvania-based research partner Energage to recognize outstanding employers in the region. Companies are also in the running for later national recognition.

And companies can’t just say whatever they want to compete. Employee feedback determines who makes the Top Workplaces list.

Organizations with 35 or more employees in the region are eligible to participate and can be public, private, nonprofit or government employers. Employees answer a short 24-question survey as part of the evaluation process through May.

Last year, 45 employers representing thousands of workers were recognized as Top Workplaces honorees. The program surveyed 69 workplaces representing 5,831 employees in 2022.

Top Workplaces will be highlighted online and in a special issue of Inside Business in August. Participants can also continue building morale at an event celebrating the honorees.

There is no cost to participate, and participating organizations receive a free summary of their survey results to gain insight from employee feedback. Energage conducts Top Workplaces surveys in 61 markets and surveyed more than 2 million employees at more than 8,000 organizations last year.

The deadline to nominate a workplace has been extended to April 21. Submit online at insidebiz.com/topworkplaces or call 757-612-4309.
