Chesapeake — One person is dead and another is wounded following a shooting in South Norfolk early Saturday morning.
Police responded to the 600 block of Lafayette Avenue at 12:43 a.m. Saturday for a call that someone had been shot, Chesapeake Police said in a press release.
When officers arrived, they heard gunshots from inside a home.
They found one person dead and another with a gunshot wound, though the release was not clear how serious the wounded person’s injuries are.
A person of interest is in custody as of Saturday morning, the release said.
