PORTSMOUTH — Police turned to the public Friday for help finding the person who shot and killed a 17-year-old girl in August.
In the afternoon Aug. 5, Lamyricle Lee was walking to a store with friends when a vehicle stopped in front of them in the 2500 block of High Street, police said in a news release.
The driver fired numerous shots, hitting Lee, who later died at a hospital. Police previously had not identified Lee by name or provided details about the shooting.
A 24-year-old man also was shot and was treated for his injuries.
Detectives “are asking the community for help to get justice and closure for Lamyricle and her family,” according to a news release.
