Portsmouth — Police are investigating a shooting that injured two boys Friday afternoon in Portsmouth.
Dispatchers received a call shortly before 2 p.m. about a shooting in the 3700 block of Deep Creek Boulevard, near Frederick Boulevard.
Victoria Varnedoe, a police spokesperson, said the boy was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers responded to a second call around 4:15 p.m. after another boy walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound, Varnedoe said. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Varnedoe said police believe the two boys were injured in the same shooting.
Officials have not released the boys’ age, nor information about a possible motive. It is unclear whether police are looking for additional suspects.
