Man dies after a shooting off Jefferson Street in Portsmouth

Portsmouth — Police are investigating a shooting that killed a man Monday in Portsmouth.

Dispatchers received a call around 5:15 p.m. about a shooting in the 600 block of Jefferson Street, off Effingham Street.

Police have not released details about the man’s identity, a possible motive or suspect.
