Police arrest Norfolk man in connection with Virginia Beach nightclub double killing

Virginia Beach — Police arrested a Norfolk man in connection with a shooting that killed two men Thursday night at a nightclub in Virginia Beach.

Anthony McCoy, 27, of Norfolk, is being charged with second-degree murder, use a firearm and possession of a firearm. He is being held at Virginia Beach City Jail, according to a news release.

Officers responded to calls and ShotSpotter alerts around 11 p.m. at Club Allure, off Newtown Road.

Officers found two Norfolk men who had been shot, the release said. William Moore, 38, and Joseph Moore, 33, died at the scene.

An investigation showed that the three men were in an argument inside the nightclub, and police said, it escalated in the parking lot when McCoy grabbed a gun from a vehicle and shot the victims.

The investigation is ongoing.
