New arrival at Norfolk International: Woman gives birth inside airport bathroom

Norfolk — A woman gave birth Thursday afternoon in a bathroom inside Norfolk’s airport arrivals building.

Norfolk Fire Rescue responded to a call about the birth shortly before 4 p.m., according to Battalion Chief Stephanie Ramsey.

Both the mother and baby were transported to a local hospital.

As of Friday, fire and airport officials did not have information on either of their conditions.
