THOMASVILLE — A Thomasville woman who is a former Emergency Medical Services supervisor in another county has been accused of stealing a large amount of drugs from the EMS inventory.
Debbie Jarrell King, 58, was arrested Wednesday by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, which said that an investigation found that King had taken 110 vials of fentanyl and 116 vials of morphine, both narcotics, and 15 vials of midazolam, a relaxant, from Moore County EMS inventory in Carthage.
No other information about the investigation or the allegations was released.
King was charged with 19 counts of larceny by employee, 19 counts of embezzling or diverting a controlled substance by a registrant or employee, 18 counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery, 10 counts of trafficking in opium or heroin by possession, seven counts of felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, seven counts of simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and one count of simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. Her bond was set at $20,000 secured.
