Norfolk is opening a parking garage this weekend to help keep your car dry from flooding

Coastal flooding is expected Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, through Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, in Hampton Roads.

Norfolk — Looking for shelter for your hot wheels ahead of this weekend’s coastal storm? Norfolk has you covered.

According to the National Weather Service, high tides and strong winds will contribute to coastal flooding Saturday and Sunday. Forecasters predicted the highest tide of the year would peak Saturday morning.

One designated city parking garage and all Old Dominion University garages will be open to the public until Monday morning should residents need to park their cars on higher ground, according to a news release from the city.

Starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, the York Street garage, located at 215 West York Street, people can begin to pile in their vehicles. People must removed their property by 9 a.m. Monday.
