For the record

A correction was made on May 8, 2023: Due to reporting and source errors, an earlier version of this article left out a third-place award earned by reporter Sandra Pennecke for an article written in Inside Business. Pennecke won three awards, not two. Virginia Media publications earned 28 awards, not 27, from the Virginia Press Association contest. Both the story and headline have been updated.
