NORFOLK — Old Dominion will open the football season on Sept. 2 at Virginia Tech in an 8 p.m. contest on ACC Network, then return home the following week to take on Louisiana at 6 p.m. on ESPN+, ESPN announced Wednesday.
On Sept. 23, ODU will host Texas A&M-Commerce in a homecoming game that was previously announced as a 3:30 p.m. start.
Also announced on Wednesday was that the Monarchs’ game at Liberty on Nov. 11 will start at 1 p.m., but that is subject to change. ESPN will announce a television platform in the 12-day selection window during the season.
The season opener at Virginia Tech will be the third meeting in Blacksburg, but the first night game between the two schools at Lane Stadium.
The game with Louisiana will be the first of three straight home games and will be followed by Wake Forest on Sept. 16. The second meeting between ODU and the Demon Deacons will begin at noon and will be on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
